Indifferent
Love and hate I know and understand well,
It’s indifference that beguiles my mind,
And confounds my understanding.
I feel with every part of my being,
I may feel exhilarated,
Or I may feel dejected but I feel it.
I have an emotional response to almost everything,
Save one that to which I am indifferent.
To those that I care for less than those I would damn to lowest pit of hell,
I hold them and their condition to be indifferent,
I care not if it rains or shines on them.
I would not raise my hand to harm them,
Or to help them either,
They are as nothing to me.
